Rubble of Stones
In the Gospel of the 33rd Sunday in Ordinary Times Luke in 21:5-19 speaks to people who saw the rubble of stones the temple had become. We too see the rubble of stones around us in the world: war in Iraq, floods in Mexico, homeless people in Fargo, families without healthcare, etc. Luke tells us that Jesus and His message are the cornerstone of life amidst this rubble. When we accept Jesus' message that we must live more simply so others can sustain themselves we become living stones in the Body of Christ.
